Description
In this Floorwork Intensive you’ll learn different floorwork techniques, concepts and sequences. Stylistically there will be a focus on making your movement look more authentically sensual. Tricks and transitions will be explained step by step with different regressions and progressions for all levels (see below under “Minimum requirements”). As always Lana will give out individual feedback as much as possible to help you grow on multiple levels as Lana’s special ability is to deeply notice the unique human in front of her, recognize the strengths and enable them to shine through even more, while also identifying what can be improved or what kind of general blockages there may be.
Play: Class will include play-time to different songs to help you experience flow, and, if you feel so inclined, explore your own pathways using the concepts taught in class. Lana will offer you a playlist and prompts. As always she is there for guidance, answering questions and giving individualized feedback.
Minimum requirement: You need to have had previous dance experience, either with floorwork specifically or dance in general. This is not an introductory course to movement. Beyond that different progressions and variations plus individual feedback will ensure that all dancers – beginners to professionals – will be taken care of and guided to a) learn new movement concepts appropriate to their level and b) overall grow as artists.
Outift: You can wear socks or (stripper) heels. You might even be able to do (some of) the movements in sneakers. The choice is up to you and you are free to change between different footwear during class. Bring knee pads (for safety, injury prevention and sliding possibilities) and long pants (to slide) in case they are needed!
